B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm announced stud fees for its 2012 roster of stallions, which is headlined by leading sire Malibu Moon . The roster also includes seven new stallions, led by prominent older male Tizway .
Malibu Moon will stand for $70,000, up from $60,000 in 2011. Multiple grade I winner Tizway will stand his first season for $25,000, and joins grade I winners Archarcharch ($10,000) and Paddy O'Prado ($15,000) as new stallions at the Lexington-based farm, along with recently-retired grade II winner Wilburn ($6,500).
Spendthrift has expanded into Canada and New York for 2012, now standing the farm stallions in four regions in North America including Louisiana. Recent TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner Court Vision will stand his first season at Park Stud in Ontario, Canada, for a fee of $10,000, along with grade I winner Victor's Cry ($5,000). Grade I winner Dublin will stand his first season in New York for a fee of $7,500 at Keane Stud near Amenia, N.Y.
