Stormy Atlantic , who is represented this year by 10 stakes winners and the earners of more than $6 million, will stand in 2012 for $40,000 at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington. The 17-year-old stallion (Storm Cat—Hail Atlantis, by Seattle Slew), who ranks 10th on the leading North American sires list, stood for $30,000 in 2011.
Indygo Shiner, who is represented by two stakes winners this year, will stand for $10,000 in 2012, up from $7,500 in 2011.
“Hill ‘n’ Dale continues to offer world class sires in all price ranges for breeders,” said Sikura in a release. “This is a unique opportunity in the marketplace to breed to champions, grade I winners, and grade I-producing sires at fees which translate appropriately to current market conditions.
"Furthermore, our Nov. 15 payment option gives another 10% discount on these fees to breeders who wish to pay their seasons with sales proceeds received from Keeneland September. I am confident we are responding to market demands and doing our part to enhance the profitability of breeders. Stormy Atlantic has enjoyed another tremendous year at stud. Clearly, he has established himself as a major and influential sire who gets top class performers at all ages on every surface.”
