Love Me Only sold for $2.1 million during the Nov. 8 session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Frank and Jane Lyon's Summer Wind Farm paid $2.1 million for the Sadler's Wells mare Love Me Only, consigned as Hip No. 383 by Eaton Sales, during the Nov. 8 session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Out of the multiple grade II winner Mariah’s Storm, a daughter of Rahy, Love Me Only is a half sister to European Horse of the Year and leading sire Giant's Causeway   and grade II winner You’resothrilling. The unraced 3-year-old Love Me Only is in foal to Sea The Stars.

“That bloodline will go down in history as one of the best ever,” Jane Lyon said. “So I’m very excited to have a young Sadler’s Wells mare, and not to mention Mariah’s Storm. You just do not get a better pedigree. And she’s in foal to Sea The Stars. I was fortunate enough to see him after he came off the track and he was a remarkable animal. I can hardly wait for the baby.”

Lyon said she believed that the strength of the Keeneland sale was due to the dispersals taking place.

The filly was bred in Ireland by Pacelco. Mariah’s Storm was purchased by Coolmore Stud’s John Magnier for $2.6 million from the Taylor Made Sales Agency consignment to the 1996 Keeneland November sale while carrying Giant’s Causeway.
