J Be K , a New York grade II winner, will stand at Richard Hessee’s Trophy Club Training Center near Royal, Ark. The 6-year-old son of Silver Deputy formerly stood at Tom Simon’s Vinery Florida near Summerfield, Fla.
J Be K won at first asking at Saratoga at 2, posting a track record of 1:03.13 for 5 1/2 furlongs. At 3, J Be K won the Gotham Stakes (gr. III) at Aqueduct in April and later put together back-to-back wins in the Woody Stephens Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont Park and the Jersey Shore Stakes (gr. III) at Monmouth Park. He ran second at 3 in the Withers Stakes (gr. III) at Aqueduct.
J Be K was retired with five wins from nine starts and earnings of $440,200.
“I am extremely proud to stand this outstanding son of Silver Deputy,” Hessee said. “He offers our breeders the opportunity to have a commercial grade stallion without having to ship to Kentucky.”
J Be K is out of grade II stakes-placed Major Wager (by Valid Wager). His first foals are yearlings. A fee will announced later.
The deal was brokered by Patrick Morell.
