The Stronach Group has announced a three-year contract with the Jockeys’ Guild in which each of the six Stronach Group racetracks will make payments to the Guild to “help subsidize health insurance, life insurance, and disability benefits as well as benefits for all jockeys who are members of the Guild and ride in the United States.”
The Stronach Group racetracks are Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park, Golden Gate Fields, Portland Meadows, Laurel Park, and Pimlico Race Course.
Terry Meyocks, national manager of the Jockeys’ Guild, said the agreement will benefit 750 active and permanently disabled jockeys.
