Street Sense , the 2007 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner and the previous year’s Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) winner, came through with his first stakes winner when Motor City won the Iroquois Stakes (gr. III) at Churchill Downs Oct. 30 (VIDEO). The 2-year-old gelding scored as a homebred for Suzi Shoemaker’s Lantern Hill Farm. He is the second stakes winner ouf of the Danzig Connection mare Shawgatny.
Street Sense, who was named 2006 champion 2-year-old male, stands at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley near Lexington. The son of Street Cry out of the Dixieland Band mare Bedazzle stood for $40,000 in 2011.
