The final day of the Belmont Park fall meet has been lost in the aftermath of a winter-like storm that hit the Northeast Oct. 29.
The New York Racing Association announced before 8 a.m. EDT Oct. 30 that live racing at Belmont has been canceled. The track, however, will be open for full-card simulcasts, as will sister track Aqueduct.
Live racing returns to Aqueduct Nov. 4 for a 37-day meet that runs through Dec. 31.
The storm, which brought snow and heavy rain, forced Belmont to cancel after three races Oct. 29. Other tracks that lost partial or full cards were Finger Lakes Casino & Racetrack in New York; Parx Racing and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Pennsylvania; and Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in West Virginia.
Charles Town already has canceled its afternoon program for Oct. 30.
