Moon Lake Farm near Elm Grove, La., announced it will no longer be a public operation and will no longer stand stallions, effective in December.
For the last two years, the farm, owned by John Turner, has operated as Millennium Farms at Moon Lake. According to an announcement from Millennium Farms, the stallions and mares owned in partnership with Ro Parra of Millennium near Lexington have, or will be, sold and the Louisiana farm will resume to be operated as Moon Lake Farm at the end of 2011.
In the announcement, Turner said he would operate the farm as a private facility and focus on his own broodmare band.
