Jockeys Russell Baze, Robbie Davis, Larry Melancon, and Ray Sibille have been nominated for the 2002 George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award.

The jockeys were nominated by the Jockeys Guild and Santa Anita Park. Jockeys across the country will select the winner by vote.

"You couldn't ask for four more deserving guys," said F. Jack Liebau, Santa Anita president and general manager. "Aside from their obvious riding talents, they are quality individuals."

The award is named in honor of Woolf, who died after falling from a horse at Santa Anita in 1946, and was won most recently by Dean Kutz. Other previous winners include Eddie Arcaro, Jerry Bailey, Angel Cordero Jr., Pat Day, Eddie Delahoussaye, Chris McCarron, Laffit Pincay Jr., Bill Shoemaker, and Gary Stevens.
