Dick Turpin to Stand at The National Stud

Group I winner Dick Turpin has been retired from racing and will stand in 2012 at The National Stud near Newmarket, England. The fee for the Irish-bred colt will be announced later.

Four-year-old Dick Turpin (Arakan—Merrily, by Sharrood) won this year’s Gran Premio Vittorio Di Capua (It-I), the Totesport.com Summer Mile (Eng-II), and the Bet365 Sandown Mile Stakes (Eng-II). His major triumph last year came in the Prix Jean Prat (Fr-I). Dick Turpin was retired with nine wins from 20 starts and earnings of $1,447,185.
