Live Thoroughbred racing at Woodbine was cancelled Thursday, Oct. 20 due to unsafe track conditions.
Representatives for the jockeys, trainers, and track management assessed the track in the area of the six-furlong pole after rainstorms pounded the Toronto area over the past 24 hours.
“Extraordinary rains have simply overwhelmed our drainage,” said Woodbine vice president of Thoroughbred racing Steve Koch. “We have every expectation that the surface will return to normal conditions for training and racing (on Friday).”
First race post time for Woodbine’s Friday card is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT.
