So You Think
According to a story on the English web site sportinglife.com, eight-time group I winner So You Think is bound for the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I).
Despite having raced twice in October, including a runner-up finish in the Qipco Champion Stakes (Eng-I) Oct. 15 at Ascot, the 5-year-old son of High Chaparral is being pointed to the Nov. 5 Classic at Churchill Downs, which will be his North American debut. It would be his third race in six weeks.
So You Think is a two-time Cox Plate (Aus-I) winner in Australia and has also won group I stakes in England and Ireland. Bred in New Zealand and trained by Aidan O’Brien, he has won four times in 2011 has earned more than $7.5 million in his career.
“He could have won three Cox Plates but we wanted to take on the world,” co-owner Dato Tan Chin Nam said in the story. “He has showcased Australian racing to the world and showed that we can match them. It has taken two course records to beat him (in his last two starts).
“I hope he can go better in America.”
