Julien Leparoux, who escaped serious injury in a frightening spill, plans to ride at Keeneland Oct. 12, according to his agent, Steve Bass. The 28-year-old jockey is named on eight mounts on the nine-race card at the Central Kentucky track.

Leparoux was thrown into the infield Oct. 9 at Keeneland when his mount in the Bourbon Stakes (gr. IIIT), Here Comes Frazier, hit the rail nearing the eighth-pole.

“His (right) hand is sore, but there is no fracture,” Bass said. “He plans to ride Wednesday unless the MRI he had late Monday night (Oct. 10) comes back with something different.”

Through the first three days of the 17-day meet, Leparoux leads all riders with eight victories, including a win in the Oct. 8 First Lady Stakes (gr. IT) on Never Retreat.
