Glorious Sight commanded €1.7 million ($2,295,970 in U.S. funds) to top Arqana’s Arc sale, which posted big increases in its key business figures Oct. 1 at Saint-Cloud in France. Michel Zerolo of Oceanic Bloodstock purchased the 3-year-old daughter of Singspiel for Andreas Putsch.

Out of the Warning mare Zelding, Glorious Sight has captured three of her 11 career races while finishing second once and third three times. The bay filly won this year’s Prix du Top 14 Orange Finlande in France, finished second in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French One Thousand Guineas, Fr-I), and was third in the Prix de Diane Longines (French Oaks, Fr-I).

Trainer Robert Collet consigned Glorious Sight.

The results for the auction included a gross of €6,347,000 ($8,572,070) for the 29 horses that were sold. The average price was €218,862 ($295,588) and the median price was €140,000 ($189,080). Compared to last year, when 23 horses were sold, the gross rose 90.8%. The average increased 51.3% and the median grew 47.4%.

The clearance rate was 61.7% compared to 53.5% in 2010.
