Dabirsim will seek to keep his perfect record intact when he takes on six challengers in the $475,888 Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-Grand Criterium (Fr-I) at Longchamp Oct. 2.
Frankie Dettori will once again be aboard the 2-year-old son of Hat Trick , who was an impressive three-length winner of the Darley Prix Morny (Fr-I) in his last start. In addition to the Prix Morny, Dabirsim has also won the Prix de Cabourg (Fr-III) and is undefeated in four starts for trainer Christophe Ferland.
Freddy Head will send out the promising Sofast, a son of Rock of Gibraltar, who has won two of three career starts. After breaking his maiden in his debut, the chestnut colt finished fourth to Dabirsim in the Prix Morny. He rebounded from that loss to defeat Mac Row, who also runs in the Lagardere, in the Prix La Rochette (Fr-III) Sept. 4. Olivier Peslier will ride.
Trainer Richard Hannon will be represented by Fort Bastion. The son of Lawman has been ultra-competitive in stakes company, despite having not yet broken his maiden. The bay colt enters the Lagardere off of a second-place finish in the Acomb Stakes (Eng-III) Aug. 17. Richard Hughes will ride.
The field is rounded out by American Devil, Veneto, Salure, and Mac Row.
