Virgil Clay Sanders, a former Central Kentucky farm owner, died Sept. 26. He was 76.
A native of Jessamine County, Sanders lived in Ocala, Fla., for the past 26 years. He owned Sanders Auction Company, and worked as a realtor and an auctioneer. He most recently worked for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.
While living in Kentucky, Sanders owned Hedge Crest Farm near Carlisle. He also worked as a farm manager and trainer for Pin Oak Stud in Versailles, and was assistant manager for Maine Chance Farm near Lexington.
Sanders’ survivors include a son, Dale, and a daughter, Karen.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 30, at12:30 p.m. at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home ni Nicholasville. He will be buried at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home. Tribute and guest book www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com
