Taste of Paradise to Fanlew in Louisiana

Taste of Paradise  , a grade I winner and second in the 2005 TVG Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I), will stand in 2012 at Ray and Kathy Paul’s Fanlew Farm near Sarepta, La. The 12-year-old son of Conquistador Cielo will stand for $2,500 on behalf of Pope McLean’s Crestwood Farm and David Bloom. Bloom, the co-breeder of Taste of Paradise, raced the Mr. Prospector grandson first in partnership and then alone.

In back-to-back starts at Belmont Park, Taste of Paradise captured the Vosburgh Stakes (gr. I) and then was beaten a head by Silver Train   in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint in his final start. Both horses were assigned a 114 Beyer Speed Figures. Taste of Paradise, who also was a graded stakes winner in 2003-04, was retired with 13 top-three finishes from 28 starts and earnings of $1,019,455.

Taste of Paradise’s runners this year are led by stakes winner Joy’s Paradise and stakes-placed Queenland.

Taste of Paradise, one of three stakes winners out of the winning What Luck mare Tastetheteardrops, formerly stood at Crestwood near Lexington.
