Grade II winner Woke Up Dreamin, who has sired a champion and six stakes horses from his first two crops, will stand in 2012 at Merrill and Connie Schutz’ Madison County Thoroughbred Farm near Macksburg, Iowa. His fee is $2,000. The Schutz’ daughter, Pam, and Mike Connelly purchased the 11-year-old son of Holy Bull .
From his first two crops, Woke Up Dreamin has sired Carla, a champion in Ecuador, plus stakes winners Florida Sox, Hjerdish, Maddox Who, and Woke Up Lovin. Woke Up Dreamin has progeny earnings of more than $1.2 million.
Woke Up Dreamin strung together five straight triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in 2005. In back-to-back six-furlong races, he recorded a 111 Beyer in winning the True North Breeders’ Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont Park and a 109 in capturing the Smile Sprint Handicap (gr. II) at Calder Race Course.
Woke Up Dreamin is out of the Storm Cat mare Dreamlike and is a half brother to French group winner Denomination. Woke Up Dreamin’s second dam is two-time grass champion Flawlessly.
Woke Up Dreamin formerly stood at Millennium Farms at Moon Lake in Louisiana.
