Jesse Jimenez Garcia registered his 2,000th victory when guiding Jack W. Dale’s homebred colt Joyssweetjoy to victory at The Downs at Albuquerque Sept. 21. Four-year-old Joyssweetjoy (In Full Control—My Sweetjoy, by Latin American) closed from last to score by a half-length as the even-money favorite.
The victory was the 88th this year for Garcia, who sports a 12% lifetime win percentage.
