Graded stakes-placed Mondavi sired his first winner when his 2-year-old daughter Woodys Night Watch scored at Hoosier Park Sept. 15. A homebred for Dennis T. Moore, Woodys Night Watch won the six-furlong maiden special weight race by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:13.80.
An Indiana-bred, Woodys Night Watch is a half sister to two stakes-placed runners and is the eighth winner from eight foals of racing age from the winning Prospective Star mare Jeanie’s Prospect.
Mondavi (Maria's Mon—Senate Appointee, by Storm Cat) stands at Breakaway Farm near Dillsboro, Ind. His 2011 fee was $1,500.
