Evans Dispersal Horses Shine at Keeneland

Mike Ryan, acting as agent on behalf of an unnamed client, purchased a Medaglia d'Oro   colt for $470,000, the highest priced colt so far during the Sept. 13 session of the Keeneland September yearling sale.

The colt, consigned by Lane’s End, agent for the complete dispersal of the Estate of Edward P. Evan’s Spring Hill Farm, was bred in Virginia by Evans. The colt is a son of the grade II winning Pleasant Tap mare Tap Dance, a half sister to stakes winner Grand Prayer, the dam of grade I winner Malibu Prayer.

The next horse in the ring after the Medaglia d’Oro colt was a Speightstown   filly. Consigned by Lane’s End on behalf of the Evans estate, the filly was purchased by Susan Casner for $450,000. Casner is the wife of Bill Casner, formerly a partner in WinStar Farm.

Also bred in Virginia by Evans, the filly was produced from the stakes-placed Pleasant Tap mare Tap Gold.
