With the Susquehanna River Valley receiving a record nine inches of rain in the past 24 hours, live racing has been cancelled for Thursday night, Sept. 8, at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.

It was the second straight evening of racing lost to the heavy storms and extreme flood conditions that have hit central Pennsylvania.

Penn National is scheduled to resume racing this weekend with Friday night and Saturday night cards at 6:00 p.m. The track then has a regularly scheduled shutdown until Friday, September 23. Hollywood Casino will continue to host full-card simulcasting during the closure.
