Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 535 yearlings for its Midlantic Eastern fall yearling sale. The number is down 17.1% from last year’s total of 635.
The auction will be held Oct. 4 and 5 in Timonium, Md. Each session will begin at 10 a.m. (EDT).
“The Eastern fall sale was built on the back of our local programs, but it far transcends that now,” said Paget Bennett, sales director for Fasig-Tipton's Midlantic division. “Our two grade I (catalog) cover girls, (2011 Personal Ensign Invitational and Ruffian Invitational Stakes winner) Ask the Moon and 2011 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty, are from Maryland and Pennsylvania, but we have yearlings by 208 stallions offered by consignors from seven different states. This is a high-quality, diverse group of yearlings that will perform at the top level of racing all across North America.”
The catalog can be viewed on Fasig-Tipton’s website (www.fasigtipton.com) or it can be accessed through The Jockey Club’s website (www.jockeyclub.com) in a free iPad application. Print versions of the catalog also are available.
