Grand Reserve Sires First Winner

New York stakes winner Grand Reserve sired his first winner when his daughter Shes a Grand Show scored at Charles Town Sept. 4 for owner/trainer Jean L. Rofe. Shes a Grand Show won the 4 1/2-furlong race by 1 3/4 lengths in :53.08.

Bred in West Virginia by Dr. and Mrs. Calvin E. Rofe, Shes a Grand Show is the first foal out of the winning Turn West mare Show No Mercy, who is a half sister to stakes winners Mercy Me and Honorable Flight and three stakes-placed runners.

Winner of the Insubordination Stakes at Belmont Park, Grand Reserve (Theatrical—Hidden Cove, by Secret Hello) stands at Mortgage Hall Farm-Mrs. Calvin E. Rofe near Middleburg, Va. His 2011 fee was $1,000.
