Evangeline Downs track management has decided to reschedule the Sept. 3 racing program for next Thursday, Sept. 8, due to forecasted heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Lee.
Racing will resume at the south-central Louisiana track Labor Day, Sept. 5 with an early post of 3:05 p.m. CDT.
Evangeline Downs’ director of racing operations Steve Darbonne stated: “In the interests of safety for all concerned we thought the prudent course of action was to reschedule. Racing for the final week of our spring/summer Thoroughbred meeting will now be Monday, and then Thursday thru Saturday.”
