Miss Seffens heads a field of seven distaff sprinters in Sunday's $100,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland over six furlongs. Miss Seffens is a five-time stakes winner, including her triumph in the Storm Cat Stakes earlier in Keeneland's fall meeting. The 4-year-old daughter of Dehere has earned $479,420 thus far in her career for owners Karen and M. Hays Biggs and trainer Steve Wren.
Looking to turn the tables on Miss Seffens will be Another, who finished second in the Storm Cat. The Robert E. Masterson charge was coming off a five-month layoff in the Storm Cat, and she should be sharper for conditioner Thomas Smith. Another is a 4-year-old daughter of Seattle Slew.
A challenge could come from 3-year-old Spanish Glitter. The Glitterman filly, owned by Fred Kissling and trained by Bernie Flint, has captured the Silver Maiden and Miss Oceana Stakes in her last two trips to the post.
The Thoroughbred Club of America field from the rail out, with riders: Cat Cay (Pat Day), Another (Robbie Albarado), Crystal Sea (Lonnie Meche), My Brent's Diamond (Mark Guidry), Spanish Glitter (Rene Douglas), Miss Seffens (Jon Court), and Rose Frances (Larry Melancon).
