Graded stakes winner Thunder Touch sired his first winner when his 2-year-old son Sudden Bolt triumphed at Marquis Downs Aug. 19. Sudden Bolt, who placed in his two earlier outings, won the half-mile race by 2 1/4 lengths in :48.14 for owner Barbara Richter.

Bred in Saskatchewan by Kansas Holm, Sudden Bolt is the first named offspring out of the Dr. Reality mare Sundown Di.

Thunder Touch (Gulch—Highland Vixen, by Highland Ruckus) scored his biggest win in the Fall Highweight Handicap (gr. III). He stands at Holm-Bred Farm near Redwater, Alberta, Canada. His 2011 fee was $2,000 (Canadian funds).
