Littleexpectations, a stakes-winning son of Valid Appeal, has been purchased by Keith and Marilyn Asmussen to stand at their Asmussen Horse Center near Laredo, Texas. His 2012 fee will be $1,500.

The 14-year-old stallion was previously owned by Ro Parra and stood at John Turner's Millennium Farms at Moon Lake near Elm Grove, La.

“It was one of those things where both the majority owners—Lee Ackerley and the Ackerley brothers—felt it would be a good home for him going back to Texas, and Keith really wanted him, so it made a lot of sense,” said Parra.

Littleexpectations, who campaigned mostly in Louisiana and Texas, retired from racing with a record of 6-2-1 from 17 starts and earnings of more than $200,000. As a juvenile in 1999, he won the Sugar Bowl Handicap and Old Hickory Stakes, both at Fair Grounds.

Bred in Florida by Harry Mangurian Jr., Littleexpectations is out of the Iron Constitution mare Mepache. He is the sire of four stakes winners, including dual grade II victor King of the Roxy.
