Senor Rain First Winner by El Nino

Grade II stakes-placed El Nino sired his initial winner when his son Senor Rain scored at Del Mar Aug 12. Senor Rain took the six-furlong race by 3 1/.2 lengths in 1:10.29 for owners Gary and Cecil Barber (VIDEO).

Bred in Indiana by Martin Stable, Senor Rain is the second winner from two foals of racing age from the Marquetry mare Make My Marq.

Grade II stakes-placed at Saratoga, El Nino (Storm Cat—Bay Harbor, by Forty Niner) stood at Swifty Farms near Seymour, Ind., prior to being sent to Australia this year.
