Craig R. Fravel has been elected to the board of stewards of The Jockey Club, filling the position vacated by John W. Amerman at the expiration of his four-year term.

Fravel was named president and CEO of Breeders’ Cup in June 2011 following 21 years in various executive capacities with Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, most recently as president and general manager.

A member of The Jockey Club since 2010, Fravel serves on the boards of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium, the Southern California Equine Foundation, and the Dolly Green Research Foundation.

In addition, The Jockey Club’s secretary-treasurer, Ian D. Highet, has been re-elected to a four-year term as steward of the non-profit Thoroughbred breed registry.
