Awesome Spirit came through with his initial winner when his son Intense scored at Santa Rosa Aug. 12 in his first outing. A Desperado Stables’ homebred, Intense ran the six furlongs in 1:12.82 to win by three lengths.
Intense is a half brother to stakes-placed Mudder of Pearl and is the fifth winner from five foals of racing age out of the winning Clever Trick mare Pearlescent.
Awesome Spirit (Awesome Again —Tizsweet, by Cee's Tizzy) stands at Special T Thoroughbreds near Temecula, Calif. His 2011 was $2,000.
