Racing at Canada's Woodbine Racetrack was cancelled Wednesday night due to high winds. The featured $100,000 Deputy Minister Stakes will be rescheduled.

According to a statement from the track, winds were prevalent in the Toronto area all day, but they were forecast to subside through the evening. That did not happen, however, and gusts of over 50 km/hour were recorded in late afternoon, according to Environment Canada.
