Meadowlands Purse Hikes Include Five Stakes Friday

Purses for all stakes at Meadowlands between now and the end of the meet on Nov. 10 will be hiked so that any such event with a purse less than $100,000 will now be funded to that level.

The increases include five stakes scheduled for Friday night; each, previously worth $75,000, will now have a purse of $100,000. According to statement from the track, there are 13 other stakes that will have their purses hiked to the six-figure level.

Meaodwlands also announced that lower level claiming horses will also be running for more with purse increases on claiming horses from $5,000 to $20,000 being upped anywhere from 22 to 36 percent.
