Maybry's Boy's First Winner Wins at Saratoga

Grade III winner Maybry's Boy   came through with his initial winner when his son Sportswriter scored at Saratoga Aug. 5 in his first start. A homebred for Flying Zee Stable, the colt captured the 5 1/2-furlong race by a three-quarters of a length in 1:03.39.

A New York-bred Sportswriter is the second winner from two foals of racing age out of the winning Point Given   mare Point Spread.

Winner of the Spectacular Bid Stakes (gr. III), Maybry’s Boy (Broad Brush—Aly’s Conquest, byAlydar) stands at Tom Simon’s Vinery New York near Hudson, N.Y. His 2011 fee was $2,500.
