Claiborne Farm and Adele B. Dilschneider and trainer Al Stall Jr. are once again headed to the Super Derby (gr. II) after their 3-year-old homebred gelding Trubs re-rallied to win the $100,000 Super Derby Prelude Aug. 6 at Louisiana Downs (VIDEO) .

Rallying from just off the pace under Shane Sellers, Trubs gamely came back on favorite Populist Politics, who took the lead heading into the stretch with a five-wide sweep around the field. After Populist Politics began shortening stride, Trubs was able to dig-in before getting up to win by three-quarters of a length.
The final time for 1 1/16 miles on dirt was 1:46.60 seconds.
Get In Da House, who moved with Populist Politics around the turn, ran a game third.
Trubs is the second winner in a row for Stall in the Prelude. Last year he won the race with Apart for the same owners before going on to win the Super Derby. With this win, Trubs earns a free start in the Saturday, Sept. 10 Super Derby. Stall will be seeking his third win; he won the race in 2008 with My Pal Charlie  , and also ran second in 2009 with Blame  .
Runner-up Populist Politics, Get In Da House, and fourth-place G. W.’s d’Oro earn a free nomination to the race as well.
Trubs, the third choice, paid $15.60, $5.40, and $3.60. He is by First Samurai  --Hit (Seeking the Gold).
