Maybry's Boy Sires First Winner

Maybry's Boy  , victor of the 2002 Spectacular Bid Stakes (gr. III), came through with his first winner when his son Sportswriter scored at Saratoga in his career debut Aug. 5 (VIDEO). The juvenile gray or roan colt captured the 5 1/2-furlong race by three quarters of a length in 1:03.39 for owner/breeder Flying Zee Stable and trainer Carlos Martin.

Bred in New York, Sportswriter is out of the winning Point Given   mare Point Spread.

Maybry’s Boy (Broad Brush—Aly’s Conquest, by Alydar), retired from racing with a record of 8-4-6 from 43 starts and earnings of $322,700. He stands at Vinery New York. His 2011 fee was $2,500.
