Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Corinthian   came through with his first winner when his son My People scored at Monmouth Park July 30. The colt captured the five-furlong race by two lengths in :59.12 for Dr. Tom VanMeter (VIDEO).

Bred in Kentucky by Double Eagle Ranch, My People is out of the stakes-winning Vice Regent mare Last Vice and is a half brother to Canadian graded winner Malakoff, who ran third in the 2006 Queen’s Plate Stakes.

Corinthian (Pulpit  —Multiply, by Easy Goer) also scored major wins in the 2007 Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) and the Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) the same year he won the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. He stands at the Beck family’s Gainesway Farm near Lexington. His 2011 fee was $25,000.
