Much Rejoicing Heads Big Field in Royal North

Much Rejoicing seeks her first graded stakes win as the lukewarm favorite in the $150,000 Royal North Stakes (Can-IIIT) on the Woodbine turf Aug. 1.

Twelve female grass sprinters are entered for the six-furlong Royal North, which is the ninth race on the Woodbine card with a 5:08 p.m. EDT post.

Trained by Jimmy Toner for AJ Suited Racing Stable, the 4-year-old Much Rejoicing is coming off a runner-up effort in the six-furlong Caress Stakes on a good Belmont Park turf course July 10. The Phillips Racing Partnership-bred daughter of Distorted Humor   has won four of 10 career races, including an overnight stakes on Belmont's inner turf course in May. She is listed at 3-1 on the morning line.

Fares Farm's Supreme, a 4-year-old Empire Maker filly, has done little wrong in her six career starts, winning four times with a pair of seconds. Trained by Leigh Delacour, Supreme won the Buckland Stakes on the Colonial Downs turf in her most recent start June 25. She is 4-1 on the morning line.

Other contenders in the big field are Sea Road, Wildcat Marie, Wild About Marie, and Jenny's So Great.
