The Stronach Group announced July 25 that Timothy Ritvo has been named president and general manager of Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino.
Ritvo had served as vice president of Gulfstream since October of 2010.
“It’s an honor to work for Mr. Frank Stronach and the entire Stronach Group,” Ritvo said in a statement. “Mr. Stronach has made Gulfstream a premier destination and his investment in Florida racing is unparalleled. Gulfstream and Palm Meadows continue to be the winter home of champions, including five of the last six Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winners, and we are looking forward building on Mr. Stronach’s vision of Gulfstream Park as one of the finest entertainment facilities in the world.”
Ritvo was a prominent jockey and racing official at Suffolk Downs in the 1980s before establishing himself in the 1990s as a leading Florida trainer. Ritvo also served as vice president and director of the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association.
Ritvo’s wife, Kathy, is a successful trainer and is the conditioner of one of the country’s top 3-year-olds, Mucho Macho Man.
