The Kentucky Lottery is re-launching one of its most successful lottery tickets tied to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which will be held Nov. 4-5 at Churchill Downs.
In 2006 a Breeders’ Cup-branded lottery ticket went on to sell nearly a million tickets in three weeks. The ticket was re-issued for the 2010 Breeders’ Cup, and the 2011 version is now available at Kentucky Lottery retailers.
The $2 ticket offers a top prize of $10,000.
“Players in the past have overwhelmingly responded to this ticket, and we anticipate the same great response again,” Kentucky Lottery Corp. senior vice president of sales and marketing Steve Casebeer said in a statement. “The combination of great cash prizes and incredible second-chance promotion prize packages from the Breeders’ Cup should make the ticket very popular.”
The second-chance promotion will allow players to enter non-winning tickets for a chance to win one of five exclusive VIP grand-prize trip packages that will include accommodations at a Louisville hotel for four days and three nights; transportation to and from the track; tickets to both days of the Breeders’ Cup in a dining area with food and non-alcoholic beverages provided; a $200 betting voucher; a $500 in spending money, and a Breeders’ Cup/Kentucky Lottery merchandise package.
Players can enter the second-chance promotion through the Kentucky Lottery website (www.kylottery.com). All entries must be received by Sept. 29 to be eligible for the grand prize drawing.
