Las Vegas Casino to Host NHC Qualifier

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association announced July 22 that Treasure Island Las Vegas, is offering an qualifying tournament for the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19-20.

Treasure Island will host the NHC for the first time next January,

The Treasure Island competition will carry a $1,000 entry fee and offer three NHC spots, with 100% of all entry fees returned as prize money. Players will make 12 mythical win and place wagers each day—six on mandatory races and six on other races of the players’ choosing. Entries are limited to one per person, and the field will be capped at 100 players.

“We’re very excited about this first qualifying tournament at the new host site of the NHC,” said Keith Chamblin, senior vice president of the NTRA.

Before the start of contest play, all participants in NHC qualifying tournaments must have paid a one-time, annual NHC Tour membership fee of $45 in order to be eligible to compete at the NHC Finals.  Individuals may sign up for the NHC Tour at www.NTRA.com/register/NHCTour.
