Flatbird Stable's Peeping Tom, who is likely to start in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I), worked four furlongs over Belmont's main track in :46 1/5 this morning. The 4-year-old worked in company with stablemate Bluesbreaker. They earned the bullet, outworking 36 others at that distance.
"He hates training, so for him to go like that it means something," said trainer Pat Reynolds.
Peeping Tom, winner of Aqueduct's grade I Carter Handicap in May, is trying to get back to his earlier season form that saw him win four-of-six starts from January to July.
Another possible Sprint candidate, Five Star Day, was also on the New York oval this morning. The Beau Greely-trainee breezed five furlongs in 1:00.
The son of Carson City has run twice this year, finishing second in a minor stakes at Bay Meadows before winning Saratoga's grade II Alfred Vanderbilt Memorial Handicap Aug. 5.
