Apprentice Cartwright Fractures Hand

Apprentice jockey Alice Cartwright fractured her right hand July 16 when she was unseated by her mount Angels Way just prior to the fourth race at Monmouth Park.

The 24-year-old native of Shrewsbury, England, who has ridden two winners in 21 mounts at the Monmouth Park meeting was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, fter being unseated    

“She had a laceration and fracture of the right hand,” said Dr. Angelo Chinnici, Monmouth Park medical director. “She’ll likely miss the next four weeks.”
