Shermanesque Gets First Winner

Louisiana freshman sire Shermanesque got his first winner July 8 when Lemon Sherbert won a five-furlong $30,000 maiden special weight at Evangeline Downs (VIDEO).

The bay colt is a Circle H Farms homebred being trained by Tony Richey. He stopped the timer in :59.78 on a fast track.

Shermanesque stands at Circle H Farms near Abbeville, La., for $750. Lemon Sherbert is out of the Red Ransom mare Lemon Yellow.
