Grade I winner City Zip, who might give it a go in the Breeders' Cup, will be retired at the end of the year, according to trainer Linda Rice. "The idea is to get him to the breeding shed while he's still fresh in everyone's mind," she said.
Three-year-old City Zip (Carson City--Baby Zip, by Relaunch) sports a record of nine wins and nine placings from 22 starts and earnings of $818,225. His eight stakes wins include six graded wins, including a deadheated score in the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I).
