The Cushion Track at Hollywood Park will remain open for training while the dirt surface at Santa Anita is being renovated in July, the track announced June 30.
Hollywood Park's final day of the spring/summer meet is July 17. The track will remain in use for training until July 22. If the renovation at Santa Anita is not finished by then, the Hollywood main track will remain open until the Santa Anita track project is completed.
Under certain circumstances, Santa Anita will reimburse the cost of shipping horses that go to Hollywood Park to train, according to a discussion held during the California Horse Racing Board's meeting June 23.
Hollywood Park will be closed for training by July 22 or the completion of the renovation of the track at Santa Anita.
The stable area at Hollywood Park will reopen Sept. 2, with training to resume the following day. The autumn meet at Hollywood is scheduled to begin Nov. 9.
