Hurstland Farm stallion Doc's Leader was euthanized the night of Oct. 14 because of complications arising from a neurological disorder. The 15-year-old syndicated stallion was buried at the Midway, Ky., farm.
Doc's Leader was bred by Hurstland owner Alfred Nuckols Jr. and raced for Mrs. Frank Loccisano, winning nine of 38 races and earning $494,325. Six of those wins came in stakes.
Doc's Leader (Mr. Leader--With Patience, by Nodouble) entered stud at Hurstland in 1992 and sired seven stakes winners, including graded winners Phi Beta Doc and Gimmeakissee.
