Seattle Slew, the 27-year-old stallion who stands at Robert Clay's Three Chimneys Farm, was represented by his 100th stakes winner when Slow Down won the Hillsborough Handicap at Bay Meadows on Saturday.

Trainer by Richard Mandella, the Wertheimer Farm homebred was last in the eight-horse field before accelerating nearing the three-eighths pole in the 1 1/16-mile grass test. The 4-year-old filly continued circled the field as she raced seven-wide and regained her momentum to catch Aviate at the wire.

Slow Down paid $17.40, $9.60, and $5.60, with Aviate returning $8.00 and $4.40 as Shericaine finished third to pay $5.60. Top of Our Game, the 7-5 favorite, finished seventh as the winner was clocked in a final time of 1:44.30.

With the victory, Slow Down has a record of four wins and three placings in 13 starts.
