Talkin’ Horses with The Blood-Horse, a popular feature on BloodHorse.com, will change to a new live format at 12:00 pm, EDT on Tuesday, June 21.
Sponsored by HorseRacingFanShop.com, produced by Prime Sports Network and hosted by BloodHorse.com’s online managing editor Ron Mitchell, Talkin’ Horses now allows Thoroughbred fans and professionals to hear their questions answered live. The show also will feature a limited call-in segment so listeners can become participants and chat with important and influential people in the industry, including owners, trainers, jockeys, industry leaders, and newsmakers from around the world of Thoroughbred breeding and racing.
The Blood-Horse’s senior correspondent Steve Haskin will launch the first episode of the new format, providing his insights and answering questions about this year’s Triple Crown series that produced a different winner of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes.
Haskin is an award-winning Turf writer renowned for his Kentucky Derby commentary, with weekly articles, Classic Spotlights, and the “Derby Dozen” all found on the BloodHorse.com website’s special Triple Crown Mania section. He also moderates the popular “Hangin’ with Haskin” blog at BloodHorse.com. Haskin, who has won six Red Smith Awards for his Kentucky Derby coverage, is the author of biographies of Dr. Fager, John Henry, and Kelso, as well as Tales from the Triple Crown, all published by Eclipse Press.
“The live format adds a new dimension to Talkin’ Horses,” said Eric Mitchell, editorial director for The Blood-Horse. “Our partnership with Prime Sports Network will help the show reach more fans and the live streaming with its call-in segment will make the show more engaging.”
