SiriusXM Radio Offers Nine Hours of Belmont

Sirius XM Radio will offer nine hours of coverage of the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) on Saturday, June 11, beginning at 10 a.m.

SiriusXM’s horse racing talk show “Down The Stretch,” hosted by track announcer Dave Johnson and journalist Bill Finley, will include the live race call from Belmont Park featuring announcer Tom Durkin. Post time is 6:36 p.m. ET. The race broadcast will also be available to listeners on SiriusXM Internet Radio and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and several BlackBerry and Android-powered smartphones.

The Belmont coverage will include pre-race odds and analysis as well as interviews with jockeys Steve Cauthen, who won the Triple Crown aboard Affirmed in 1978, Angel Cordero, Jr., who rode Bold Forbes to the winner’s circle at the 1976 Belmont, Jesus Castanon, who rode Shackleford   to victory in the Preakness Stakes on May 21, plus broadcaster Charlsie Cantey and others. Following the race, Johnson and Finley will stay on air to provide listeners with post-race analysis and a recap of the day’s action.

SiriusXM listeners can also hear Horse Racing Radio Network’s live race broadcast from Belmont Park (5-7 p.m. ET) on Sirius channel 92 and XM channel 207. SiriusXM offers HRRN’s broadcasts of all three Triple Crown races as well as a select number of stakes races throughout the year.
